„In Bloom” special tour: with essayist & writer Jan Kaus

16th of October 18.00

In Bloom

“In an era when the fragility of the environment is steadily amplified, increasingly influencing or overshadowing societal choices, creative practices also have a need – or even an obligation – to explore not only the diminishing natural world but also the intensifying relationships between human society and nature,” reflects writer Jan Kaus in the online publication Edasi about Fotografiska’s exhibition “In Bloom.”

The final month of the incredibly vibrant “In Bloom” exhibition brings a very special exhibition tour at Fotografiska with writer and essayist Jan Kaus – come listen, be inspired, and spend an hour immersed in Jan Kaus’ reflections, directly and sincerely, surrounded by mesmerising photographic art. Together, we’ll let our thoughts soar and fuel meaningful discussions.

Jan Kaus

Jan Kaus is an essayist and writer, and a former chairman of the Estonian Writers' Union (2004-2007).

„In Bloom”

A blend of contemporary photography, video, sculpture, and installations highlights nature's placement in contemporary art. The beauty, richness, fragility, and diversity of nature are represented by 17 contemporary artists, all of whom are interested in understanding, discovering, and expressing themselves in this world. Together, they have created an inspiring and conceptual philosophical reflection on the cycle of life and death and the variability of time. Among the renowned international artists, acclaimed Estonian artist Heikki Leis is also represented.
