Farmers' Market & grandparent's day brunch

Autumn arrives at Fotografiska straight from the fields, forests and gardens. For one special day, we bring together the people who grow and gather the ingredients that make their way into our kitchen, the chefs who turn them into food, and everyone who appreciates good, honest, sustainably grown produce.

FROM FARM TO PLATE

At the café, Fotografiska’s Head Chef Gerli Travkin meets Margit, the founder of Korilase Köök, a small food project based in Setomaa. Together, they will create a special autumn pop-up menu centred around what the land, forests and gardens have to offer right now.

Margit came into our orbit through a shared belief that great food starts with great ingredients. After years working in restaurants and cafés, life took her to the village of Tääglova in Setomaa, where she now grows her own vegetables and roots, and forages for mushrooms, berries and herbs in the surrounding forests.

“As someone who has taught herself and loves to experiment, I find my inspiration in nature itself, in all its imperfect beauty,” she says.

Fotografiska Café has also just launched its new autumn menu, filled with a host of exciting new additions and offering delicious experiences for visitors of all ages.

FARMER’S MARKET IN THE COURTYARD

For one day, Fotografiska’s courtyard will transform into a real farmers’ market. Joining us will be a selection of farms and small producers whose ingredients regularly find their way into Fotografiska’s kitchen: including Kolotsi, Kopra, Kalamatsi, Lähe, Kuke, Pikasoo and other highly regarded farms from across Estonia.

Farmers’ market stalls are filling up with fresh autumn harvests, while Fotografiska’s own stand will also offer goodies made in our kitchen and in-house: kombucha, fresh honey from the rooftop garden, fermented root vegetables, and the latest vintage of Fotografiska’s white wine, No Fuss Weiß, freshly made in Germany.

Throughout the day, there will also be a few small workshops and plenty of practical kitchen wisdom to share, with a focus on preserving, fermentation and ways to make the autumn harvest last a little longer.

And a Sunday can hold even more:

– 13 September is also Grandparents’ Day in Estonia, as well as the final day to visit Fotografiska’s major summer exhibition, Photography in Power.
– At 14:00, join the exhibition’s final Sunday guided tour. The tour is included with an exhibition ticket.
– To celebrate Grandparents’ Day, we’re also offering a little gift to all visitors aged 65+: anyone purchasing a Fotografiska Member Reduced* annual Membership on 12–13 September will receive an additional free month from us. Even more reason to keep coming back to Fotografiska again and again.
– Bring your grandparents, children, friends or simply an empty stomach and a market bag ready to be filled. Entry to Fotografiska Farmer’s Market is free.

*Fotografiska Member Reduced is a Membership package for young people up to the age of 25 and the young at heart aged 65+.
