Family Festival: Space for the Whole Family
28th of September 10.00–16.30
Fotografiska launches into autumn with SPACE – A Visual Journey
As autumn arrives, Fotografiska turns its gaze to the starry sky with the launch of its major exhibition SPACE – A Visual Journey. At the horizon where art and science meet, research intertwines with creativity — the majesty of the universe is captured both through the lens of astronomers and the imagination of artists. Fourteen artists tackle profound questions: Who are we in this timeless cosmos, and who is truly allowed to dream of the future?
Family Festival: A Space Adventure for All Ages
Sunday, 28 September, 10:00–16:30
On Sunday 28 September, Fotografiska transforms into a family spaceship. The exhibition becomes a cosmic playground for a day full of joyful astro-adventures designed for every age group — delighting both the youngest and the oldest explorers. Bring along everyone you consider family: children, partners, friends, grandparents — even well-behaved dogs are always welcome at Fotografiska.
You can choose to accompany your child on their space journey or let the young star travellers explore on their own while you enjoy a relaxing brunch in the café.
Morning Music for Babies and Toddlers
10:00–10:40
€15 (1 adult + child/children)
€25 (2 adults + child/children)
Together we’ll sing and make music with the little ones, journeying “to the moon and back” with instruments and the exhibition’s cosmic atmosphere. The session is led by Reelike Tükk — a warm, radiant leader of toddler music and play groups (Vahva Nööp) and dance teacher at the children’s ensemble Sõleke.
Recommended age: 6 months – 3 years (though younger and older children are welcome too).
Takes place in the exhibition hall on Fotografiska’s 2nd floor.
Workshop: Creating the Cosmos
12:00–13:00 & 13:30–14:30
Child: €15
Two children: €25
Family ticket: €30 (up to 2 adults + 3 or more children)
Inspired by Fotografiska’s space exhibition, we’ll explore, cut, paste, and build constellations, draw star clusters and cosmic dust. Artist Kertu Sillaste will guide families in creating a vast starry cosmos together — each participant will also take home a small piece of the collective artwork.
The workshop takes place in the 1st floor hall (behind the café).
Kertu Sillaste is an illustrator, picture book author, designer, art teacher, and textile artist. Her workshops are always brimming with creativity and engaging activities that captivate children.
Best suited for ages 6–12, though younger children, teens, and adults are also welcome. Independent participation works best for school-age children; younger “little stars” should be accompanied by an adult.
