TEDxTallinn: Kõgõkogo

2nd of November

TEDxTallinn

This year’s TEDxTallinn carries the title “Kõgõkogo” – a beautiful Võro word that embodies the cosmos and the entirety of existence. Everything is everything. But for us, space is not something distant or unattainable – it is within us just as well, in the end we ourselves are made of stardust. It is that paradoxical space where ideas are born, questions arise, and thoughts collide. “Kõgõkogo” is the courage to look into the vastness, to look further, but also to think deeper.

On one day, on one stage, we will bring together technology, education, and design – as is characteristic of TEDx – and add everything else that belongs under the notion of the universe: science, creativity, the human inner world, relationships, the power of silence. We do not offer ready-made answers, but rather seeds that may take root exactly where you least expect them. Everyone will find something here: a thought that lingers; a perspective that shifts your course.

The stage will welcome numerous guests from Estonia and beyond, but this year the program also brings a special addition: visitors will hear the reflections of artists featured in the major exhibition “SPACE – A Visual Journey” at Fotografiska. Brooke Holm, Mikael Owunna, Cecilia Ömalm & Göran Östlin are just a few of the many names who will explore the cosmos and the future of humanity.

It is no coincidence that we gather on All Souls’ Day – a time when the boundaries between the visible and the invisible seem to fade. “Kõgõkogo” invites you to let your thoughts wander into places everyday life cannot reach. Sometimes the greatest discoveries are born precisely when you simply allow yourself to think.

PS! Talks will be held in both Estonian and English. All presentations will be simultaneously interpreted into both languages on site.

“Kõgõkogo” is inspired by Fotografiska’s exhibition SPACE – A Visual Journey.
