In the spotlight: Michael Najjar on his way to space
13th of September 14.30
Fotografiska turns its gaze to the stars with the grand exhibition COSMOS – A Visual Journey, opening on September 13.
At the horizon where art meets science, research and creativity intertwine: the vastness of the universe is captured both through the eyes of astronomers and the interpretations of artists. In the hands of 14 artists, timeless questions emerge: Who are we in this eternal cosmos, and who, if anyone, has the right to dream about the future?
To mark the opening, exhibiting artist – and future Virgin Galactic space traveler – Michael Najjar will share the story of his extraordinary journey. Balancing one foot in art and the other in science, he is also physically preparing for his upcoming spaceflight, expected to take place next year.
His captivating and unconventional artistic voyage will be presented in Fotografiska’s 1st floor hall on Saturday, September 13, at 14:30. Join us in the front row or enjoy the talk from the café while savoring a weekend brunch, as Najjar explores the intersections of art, science, and the future. On the same day, visitors will also have the chance to be among the first to experience the newly opened space exhibition.
