Cocktails and Conversation: Andrei Liimets & the SPACE exhibition artists
30th October 20:00
Fotografiska’s major exhibition “Space – a Visual Journey” invites you to explore the universe and our place within it. Who does space really belong to, and who is allowed to dream about the future? What role can art play in shaping it?
On one dim and cozy late-October evening, we’ll lift the veil on these questions and gather among cocktails and conversations in the cosmic exhibition hall, where artists Rhiannon Adam, Brooke Holm, Mackenzie Calle, and Mikael Owunna share their sparkling opinions and electrifying ideas. The discussion will be moderated by Andrei Liimets – a one-man cultural orchestra whose repertoire stretches from Tarkovsky to the stars and always captures the pulse of the times.
During the event, the museum will be closed to other visitors.
Space – a Visual Journey
We have always looked to the starry skies above and wondered what is out there. Space represents the aspiration to push beyond our limits, to take a step out into the unknown, and to dream about a future among the stars in the night sky. It encapsulates both the curiosity and excitement of discovering something new, and the timeless questions about who we are and where in this enormous vastness we belong.
The universe is a never-ending source of fascination, inspiration and big questions. The exhibition SPACE – A Visual Journey explores the celestial frontier where artistic expression and scientific inquiry meet, and captures the grandeur of the cosmos through the eyes of astronomers and the interpretive visions of artists alike.
