Curator tour & Friday Club: Fotografiska Tallinn x Oulu2026 „PLAY“ / feat. DJ Somepoe
Oulu, Finland. August 14, 19:00
Group Exhibition “PLAY”
In addition to our exhibitions in Tallinn, something special is taking place this year in Oulu. As part of the Oulu 2026 European Capital of Culture program, the group exhibition “PLAY”, created by Fotografiska Tallinn, is now open to visitors. Bringing together 18 international artists, it is one of the standout visual arts events of the cultural capital year.
The exhibition features works by world-renowned photographers such as Martin Parr, Roger Ballen, and Cristina de Middel, alongside Estonian artists Joosep Kivimäe and Mathias Väärsi. “PLAY” is curated by Fotografiska’s Creative and Brand Director, Jorven Viilik, while the exhibition’s soundscape has been created by sound artist Erki Pärnoja.
The exhibition will remain open in Oulu at least until the end of the year.
Curator Tour & Friday Club
If you are looking for a reason to spend a weekend in Northern Finland, Oulu’s European Capital of Culture year offers plenty of inspiration.
Explore Fotografiska’s playful exhibition, join a curator-led tour, and enjoy an evening program where art, music, a lively bar atmosphere, and good company come together.
At the same time, the city is hosting a wide range of other events, including communal lunches and dinners held around a table stretching nearly a kilometer in length. You can also discover the Art Trail, where contemporary art is woven into the Nordic landscape. The route can be explored on foot or by running, leading visitors to artworks in unexpected locations.
Fotografiska Membership
For Fotografiska Membership, both exhibition admission and the curator tour are free of charge. If you plan to attend, please let us know in advance so we can expect you.
If you are not a Membership member, tickets for the Friday evening program can be purchased on-site. A special discounted admission rate, lower than the regular ticket price, will be available exclusively for that evening.
