About the movie
Jean-Michel Vecchiet followed Peter for over two years for this documentary. The film provides a close-up view of how our era's most prominent fashion photographer works, highlighting the trusting relationship between the photographer and his models. We witness the creation of intimate portraits and detailed, staged cinematic shots, traveling from the deserts of California and Hollywood studios to the major cities of Europe. We meet Milla Jovovich and Naomi Campbell, who is wary of water, among many other stars of the 1990s.
The film screening will take place in the hall of the Peter Lindbergh exhibition "The Lightness of Being," where, similar to the film, one can see a blend of melancholy and warmth. You will witness the falling of barriers as trust forms between two people.
Regarding Lindbergh's relationship with film:
Marge Monko has written in Sirp about Lindbergh's flirtation with film aesthetics in his photography: "In the latter half of the 1990s, he decided to focus more on his own projects aside from commissioned work. During this time, he was most inspired by cinema, resulting in several short films and narrative photo series inspired by science fiction scripts."
